Bridge – Back to Basics

Our Back to Basics sessions are an opportunity for newer players to practice their newly learned skills at the table in a supportive and educational environment. Players can ask questions about bidding and card play. Discussions can be for the table or just for you. You might even like to play a hand in one contract, and then re-play it in another contract to see how it plays out. Each table has an experienced mentor. You do not need a partner. We build tables of 4 on the day as people arrive.

If you have just finished lessons, and want practice bidding and playing, then Back to Basics is for you. If you are adding new bids to your play eg.trying a new convention with your partner, then feel free to join a table.

Back to Basics sessions are held on the following days:

Monday Evening:

• 1-2 tables, depending on demand. We invite our recently graduated beginners to come to this session, and anyone who would like more practice bidding and playing to come to this session
• 7.30-9.30pm – Back to Basics, with an experienced mentor
• Table fees for Members: $6.00 (with an annual NBBC Social membership (Bridge) of $65.00)
• Table fees for Visitors:  $10.00

Thursday Morning:

• 5-6 tables. We invite our recently graduated beginners, and anyone who would like more practice bidding and playing to come to this session
• 11.00am-12.30pm – Back to Basics, with an experienced mentor per table
• Table fees for Members: $6.00 (with an annual NBBC Social membership (Bridge) of $65.00)
• Table fees for Visitors:  $10.00
• Table fees for Back to Basics includes admission to the afternoon Duplicate session as well.
